Activate Learning have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Science Laboratory Technician to join our well-established team at our Oxfordshire colleges.
\r\nYou will be responsible for providing technical support for the Science Laboratory facilities (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) which will include, ensuring the teachers and our learners fully equipped in preparation for their lessons, and making sure the environment is clean, safe and well stocked in-line with Health and Safety requirements. In addition, you will be required to support the teacher in the delivery of all teaching programmes and be present during the lessons to offer additional support to learners if required.
\r\nThis is a permanent, term-time only role, working 30 hours per week (0.68 FTE) with the hours split equally based at our Oxford and Banbury campuses. Job share will also be considered.
\r\nWhat do you need to be successful in this role?
\r\nSuccessful candidates will have level 4 qualification in one of the following science subjects, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Physics, and experience of laboratory work.
\r\nYou will have experience in writing risk assessments and COSHH assessments, along with good attention to detail, strong communication skills, and be IT literate. Ideally, you will also have experience working in an education environment, specifically in a school or college laboratory.
\r\nIn addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.
